A gangster named Dude has murdered another thug, and framed Bert Westcott -a novel writer and old friend of Inza's- for the crime. An innocent man will be executed at midnight, unless Doctor Fate and Inza can prove that Dude and his henchmen are the true perpetrators of the crime.
